Is her weight ok?

Hello! I got Sarabi at 7weeks old. We started her off with Proplan large breed puppy but switched her after about 3weeks to Wellness large breed puppy. She gets about 3 cups a day. She is 14weeks now and weighs about 27lbs. She is pretty tall but I feel l like I can see her ribs too much. Mom was about 85lbs and dad was 120lbs. I tried uploading pictures but it keeps saying all my files are too big =[

I personally would add 1/2 a cup more to each feeding. Dogos are so active and she will burn up the extra food. Honestly, as long as she is eating good kibble, has good poops, good vet checks, healthy and active I would not worry about the number. Weight is just a number way too many put too much value on. She is a pup and will be skinny at times.I have had and been around many, many Dogos since 1992.

Like stated as long as she's healthy. Weight is a passing concern. Our pup Ares is half dogo and half english mastiff so of course our immediate concern was his growth rate. He had a little bout with worms when we got him at 7 weeks and weighed only 6.5 lbs. We got rid of the worms and has progressively picked up weight in a short period. I expect ares to weigh about the same at 14 weeks as yours, but he is a happy pup and seems in perfect health.

I have tried giving her more food but she will not eat anymore. She will eat almost exactly a cup and leave the rest even if I keep the food down for 15-20 extra mins. I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much. She is all legs nows.

6.5lbs?? Oh he was tiny!! Sarabi weighed 11.8lbs when I got her at 7weeks. She did have a bit or diarrhea for a while but that passed after 2 days. She is a happy pup as well. We are so proud of her.

I wouldn't worry :) she's young. My second dogo female was only 78lbs at her prime. She was fit and trim and super athletic. Versus my male, who was 134lbs and a beast. Gracie got her ARBA championship and had some beautiful babies. She lived to be 13 yrs young and just didn't wake up one night. I love to think her healthy size let her pass easily and still in great shape.

Dogo's were never meant to be more than 80-110 lbs because any bigger and you lose athleticism and the ability to bite and hold. Dogo's primary purpose in life is to hunt so the perfect weight for a hunting Dogo in my opinion would be females 70-80 lbs and males 90-100 lbs this is the optimal weight for a supremely athletic Dogo.

Yep, no worries - thin puppies are good puppies! You should easily see ribs, but have some padding on the hip bones.
Seems we're all having issues uploading photo files this week... it's not just you. :(
