Hello, this is my first post so I am pretty new. I live in Ohio and have been researching the ddb for quite some time. I've researched a few breeders online but wanted to come on here and ask about your experiences. In your opinion who are some of the best (most reputable) breeders in the Midwestern area. I've owned two bullmastiffs in the past and loved them! So I know what to expect with these big dogs. A finger in any direction would be appreciated, thank you

I haven't looked into breeders in almost 6 years so I'm not much help. I got my boy from Cabinwood Bordeaux in Indiana - can't go wrong with them, though it's been a while since they've had a litter and they don't have any coming up to my knowledge either.

BullDuke,

R U opposed to getting a dog shipped or flown to you. If not, I could refer you to who I think is one the most caring, responsive, and reputable breeders. AND as a bonus she has great dogues. By the way check out my website:

Chad, I am not opposed to having a puppy flown. I'm looking for pet quality, just for companionship not showing or breeding. Perfect scenario would be for me reach a breeder who is expecting a litter during the winter so by time for pick up it will be spring. I live in Ohio and would rather get a spring puppy cause it will be easier to train, and socialize being more people are out with their pets during warmer weather. I've checked out puppy creek kennel out of Arkansas and love their dogues but havnt heard back from the breeder for the last day or two. Any advice would be great chad, thank u

BullDuke,

IMO. If you want the best regardless of your intended use I would go to:
Z Orisku at: http://schreiber.dog.sweb.cz/

If you want to stay somewhat local (i.e. Indiana). I would try Icon Mastiffs at: http://iconmastiffsyahoocom.webstarts.com/
They only have a couple of dogue, but they are of great quality. The may have plans within your timeframe.

There is a breeder in Ohio (i.e. Primal Bordeaux) and they have several dogues and may have plans within your timeframe. Based on your stated intended use, I think they would be more than acceptable. They can be viewed at: http://primalbordeaux.com/

But really it comes down to what your preferences are. There are plenty of breeders. I would google, google, and then google some more. View plenty of pictures and see what you like best. Then research the pedigrees of the dogues that you prefer and then try to find as many other dogues that you can with similar pedigrees. Lastly, comes the hard part in that you have to make your own decision of where to purchase. GOOD LUCK.

Chad

Bullduke,

Just found out my male is going to stud another female. It pregnancy happens puppies would be born right after Christmas. Ready for homes 2-3 months thereafter.

Thank you Chad, you have been more than helpful. I've researched and been in contact with three diff breeders. I've decided with a reputable breeder in Indiana (pretty close to me) and I have put a deposit in today. They re breeding thus week, due date Xmas, and ill pick up mid February. I love the look, size and health of their dogs and they have been breeding for over 16 years so I pulled the trigger. and its a good thing I did when I did because they operate on a first come first serve basis and I'm getting first picks at the litter. I'm very excited and can't wait for the holidays to roll around. Thanks again for all ur help, I appreciate it:)
