I have lost my friends!

Bailey has lost one friend who she loved to visit and play with, Bubba. Bubba and his family have sold their house and have moved far away leaving Bailey bereft. She keeps dragging me to their house and looks and looks at the window to see her Bubba... All I can tell her is "all gone." If the past is any indication, she will keep dragging me to their lawn and look up expectantly at the window for a protracted period of time. It breaks my heart.

A second friend with a large fenced yard that she loved to visit on walks and get a chance to run and play, he's gone...gone across the Rainbow Bridge. It was sudden...very, very sudden. Seymore was fine at night. The house was full of people visiting. Lots of hub-bub going on, but in the morning after eating, he threw up over and over again in the house. Amy, Seymore's Mommy, cleaned up and tried to soothe her boy. He went outside and had a good bowel movement...came back in and layed down. I believe he went into shock, and coma and then before they knew it, he was cold and gone. Amy is distraught. He child is distraught. The visiting relatives are distraught. No one wanted this.

And here is the message I will try to send to each of you. We Can Lose Them So Fast. One moment they are leaping and frogging around the yard and the next a sick tummy can carry them off. She doesn't think that his bowel twisted...the other signs weren't there, but...but...but..... For the rest of her life and her child's life she will be wondering and second guessing that her boy needed a doctor and she didn't understand how serious it was.

Would We? I fear this. I fear leaving my girl when she's under the weather. I try to arrange for the stay-at-home Mom next door to look in on her. On occasion she had brought Bailey to her house to visit with her kids and her dog...just because she was a little too sad and needed friends. She is a blessing to me.

I am sad. This happened three days ago and I still can't believe it. He was so full of life. Such a joy, such a big beautiful boy. I miss him.

I'm so sorry. I know what it's like. Ed was more than fine when I left for a dress fitting with my girls and he was gone less than four hours later. No warning. It was devastating. My heart truly goes out to your friends and their family.
