Hey guys,
Had a bad morning. I have trained my 5 month old to run on the treadmill for use during bad weather. I normally do the same thing in the mornings. I get up at 6am, feed her take her out, and she goes pee and pop. Last thursday i had her on the treadmill and i went upstairs for a minute and she had popped while on the treadmill. I didnt get upset, it doents make a mess on the treadmill really, it just all ends up at on the floor. That was only the second time she had ever popped in the house, and the first time was the first 10 minutes i had brought her home. Normally when she has to go out she hits a bell i have haning from the door.

I updated this but it didnt save for some reason. Anyways, I feel as i was way to rough with her and feel horrible about it. I dont want her to be afraid of me. Do you guys think she is going to hate me? We had a great relationship and i want her to be confident liek she was, but i yelled and pulled her by her collar today and she was very affraid:( any advice or anything?

After i brought her out, i put her in her cage for about 10 minutes or so and gave her some affection because i felt horrible about it.

Other than dont do it again there is nothing you can do, move onwards and upwards. We all have 'moments', we are only human. Dogs dont forget but they also dont hold grudges like people do. Say Im sorrry and give her a kiss, this will make you feel better, and just try to remain calm at all times, this will make her feel better.

Thank you. I wish i wasnt at work right now. I want to give her a hug and kiss... i so bad. afterwards before i left for work i did a few come commands and gave her some treats. Do you think she isnt gettign off the treadmill because she normally doesnt get off until i tell her too?

I know you feel bad, when you get home take her for a nice walk, have a good play, rebond with her. Give her some special hugs and tell her sorry and that you love her and then forget about it. And yeah maybe she stayed on there because she was waiting for your command. May I also say you should never leave a dog unattended on a tread mill, not even for a minute, that is an accident waiting to happen and once that is much worse than a bit of poo. Sorry dont want to make you feel any worse but I also cant not say it.

I dont have her tied to the treadmill at all. she does it off leash. But your right i should always be right there. This morning though i was standing right next to her and was very suprised. But as i was thinking maybe she had to go more and wouldnt get off the treadmill until i told her too. thank you for your advice!

One of the bestest things about dogs, is that they forgive us our human folly in a heart-beat.

You can tell her you're sorry, so you feel better. But I'm sure she's already forgiven you and is ready for the next adventure. :)

I know when I've gotten irrationally angry with Denna, she just looks at me like I'm crazy and stops listening to me. As soon as I let go of the bad energy, she's ready to listen again and we pick up right where we left off. Dogs are GREAT!

Corso's are very sensitive I have noticed. It doesn't take much to get your point across with them. She will bounce back for sure...just take a softer approach going forward.
