I can not stand waiting anymore! We get our new EM puppy June 2nd, I've never owned an EM but we have an 11 yr old BM. It is ALWAYS on my mind and I spend every spare second online reading info in on EMs and looking at pictures! Our breeder feeds raw, and I have never ao that is at least something to keep my mind occupied! We have a 4 hr drive 1 way to pick up our pup (thankful breeder ia bringing him most of the way or it would be a 10hr drive 1 way!) And im concernes qith potty breaks and the risk of Parvo...he will of course have had his 1st set of shits, bit we have always kept our pups housebound until after their 2nd set.... How do I safely take him on potty breaks during our drive home?

I hope he's had his first set of shits, or he may explode. ;)

Nothing makes time move slower than waiting for a puppy.

Too be perfectly honest, he may not even need to go during those four hours due to stress. Our boy didn't go once on a seven hour drive home. You could bring an old blanket you're not too attached to and set it on the ground and let him go on it if you want, or they do make those little potty matts that look like fake grass.

We're in the same boat! We get our girl May 30...4 hour drive each way. Time is....draaaagging.

I think we'll bring an old towel or blanket for her...even if she doesn't need to go, we'll probably need a rest stop on the way home. Good luck! Do you have a name picked out?

Also, I laughed out loud at your typo. Good one.

Yes, we're going with Charlotte! We were going to wait until we met her, but our breeder has been sending us lots of pictures, and we just decided it fit. When we told our breeder that, she let us know that everyone spending time with her will start to call her that up there, too, so that's a bonus (name recognition before we even meet her).

I like both Duncan and Yogi.

Not sure if it would work or not butt why not try a Cat litter tray in your car....of course assuming it is a wagon or SUV? Having said that though, would a quick 1 minute stop on a remote stretch of road be a risk....I wouldn't of thought so but as I live in a different country, maybe the risks are higher there. I couldn't sleep the night before I gotta DDB....it was actually nice beng so excited about something

It is exciting and it is nice feeling the excitement and anticipation. We decided if he needs to stop we will do just what you suggested, and stop in a rwmote area and not a service station :)
