Hey BB360, welcome to the Mastiff Forum, and the Corso Family!

There are a lot of threads discussing details on this question, I've made one before I believe.

Firstly, What are you looking to get a Cane Corso For? Just a PET? A dog Sport? Obedience Competition? Do you want a high drive - energetic puppy? OR do you want a low drive - more mellow puppy? These are things to keep in mind when purchasing a puppy.

Next, how much are you willing to pay for the Corso? What is your price range?

Here is a site that looks more specifically at the Correct Proportions of the Cane Corso;
If you are looking for an AKC Show Dog, then you would want to inspect the dogs Gait, and Bite, Coat, Etc. Etc. (That is not my specialty, but maybe someone else can chime in.)

BUT, do MAKE SURE, that whatever breeder you choose, has TESTED their litter's parents. Ie; some sort of HIP testing and Possibly EYE tests as well. Do not take ANYONE'S "Word" for it, ASK to see PAPERS/PROOF!

A GOOD breeder will normally have a contract both parties (Buyer & Seller) must sign and oblige to (It may be a page long, to several pages, and will usually state things like -you can not rehome the dog (it must come back to the breeder), you MUST spay/neuter if you do not plant to show/compete with the dog, and may also include a HEALTH Guarantee.)

As for actually choosing a good breeder, talk to them on the phone, go visit their home, you want a breeder who will have a relationship far after you the your dog home, someone who is trustable. You want to pick a breeder who has dogs that appeal to you..., maybe both the parents are 160+lbs and you want a smaller weighing corso - maybe this breeder is not for you then?

There are MANY bad breeders, and Many Good Breeders. Where are you located, maybe someone can help give some suggestions. I recommend you search through the forum, and google, as people have recommended breeders To/ and Not to purchase a dog from.
