How to get private messages on Tapatalk?

I'm trying to figure out how to get messages on my phone.
Can anyone help me out with this?

On your phone swipe from the left side border to the right and pull out the menu. In that menu you will see "messages" about half way down the list right under "unread". Select that category and you should see your private messages
