  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

How much did you pay for your dog?

or ..you really don't want to know. (that's what I tell my hubby! or ...less than your motorcycle)
LOL! That doesn't work for us because we both had motorcycles. We have since both sold them but for us it is the other way around. My hubby doesn't tell me how much anything costs because it would give me anxiety! Of course I didn't flinch at the doggie expense. :)

$350 for my rescue corso and then $200 for vet costs and then another $750 for training and who knows what else he has destroyed like my harmony remote control plus 250 lol and dog beds...i should go on...but i wont cause my wallet is still empty and crying does nothing. LOL

$350 for my other adopted corso from a so called "breeder" acting as a rescue? and then another 300 for her spay and then another 750 for training because shes super unsocialized and scared of her own shadow ...fun....!

Costs of two adopted rescue corsos??? TOO MUCH! :)

I usually answer with... " more than you probably spend on a kid". I get the tilted head look from the human at that point. LOL :)

It so depends on the context. If they are a dog lover, or are thinking about getting one, then I share.
If not, I don't.

Thats kind of the stance I am taking. I haven't even got my pup yet but he is gonna be 1900 bucks plus the shipping which I think is gonna be in the 400 dollar range. If someone is just asking so they can tell me how nuts I am than I have no interest in sharing but if they are generally interested than I don't mind telling people.

Camo (Neo) was actually given to me as his former people couldn't take care of him. And when people ask, I tell them he was a gift. It does depend on who's asking though as to whether or not I will tell them what a Neo pup costs. If they seem shady to me I evade the question. I don't want anyone to think they can break in & steal him. He's a pup & wouldn't be hard to take at this time. When he's huge,,I may change that. If the people are genuinely interested,,I'll discuss it.

I don't really get this question a lot. People seem more interested in taking my boy's photo.

But generally if someone asks, I tell them, but again like other it depends on the context.

We call that look a "golden look" (as in retriever)

If someone is asking because they're genuinely interested, we usually give them a range. Then we tell them all about bullmastiff rescue, & the comparetively small cost. Sometimes it helps find the lost souls a forever home.

I read this post when it first came out months ago. Now that Franklin, 5 month old EM, is able to go out in public I've been getting asked this same question. It irritates me a little. We see Franklin as a family member not just a dog. His personality is one of a kind and I wouldn't have it any other way. When people ask I just say he wasn't cheap and that he's pure bred.

Just ask them how much they paid for their kids! When people make comments about the expense of keeping dogs like these I always tell them, "at least I don't have to have a college fund & he'll never ask to borrow the car!"

It dont bother me. I'll answer or not just depends who it is and why they want to know. I usually just say likely 1000-3000 depending on the breeder. Then I tll them to go to the pound where most my big dogs have come from

Mine were both free, well I made a donation to the rescue group for the one, the mastiff was given to me, along with crate, food, treats, etc by the family who was giving her up. Can't believe how lucky I was to get her.

I dont know how much my corso is going to cost me, but I know it will be alot. I dont plan on telling people cus it's none of their business.

I can't say I have ever got asked how much my pup was.
They were always more interested in what breed, how old or just wanting to pet him.
