How affectionate is your dog?

Sometimes I think about what kind of dog I'll get in the future, when these kids have moved on to the rainbow bridge. I really love Caucasian Ovcharkas, but I've never met one so I don't have a good feel for the personality right now.

Right now I have one sweet as pie super-cuddly pit bull and two CCs who are always up my butt, you know, can't go to the bathroom alone kind of dogs. So it just got me to wondering if I could handle having a dog who was *not* as co-dependent after these guys, lol. I think I might be really insecure and constantly say, "You don't really love me, do you? DO YOU?" and then go cry and feel sorry for myself. ;-)

So I'm just sort of wondering how affectionate your dog is, and what breed are they?

I can honestly say that the bond with my Filas is like no other. :) A friend once described her husband's bond with his as "something holy." That's about as close as words are going to get.

The affection is in every glance, every time they have reached a paw out in sleep and sighed when they touch me.

My dog is awesome! he is very independent, but he is still affectionate when I want him to be... He was also very easy to train and SUPER MELLOW!

hes only like 145-155 lbs... Bout 26" @ the withers... His temperament is what I love the most tho... just a sweet, well mannered BM... But he did get into a scrap with a male bully... and my BM beat his asss! But it was sad to see my bully go

I have a Boxer who is sweet and I adore, but I have to admit the Corso Velcro Syndrome is something I love. It also helps with training to have a dog who never stays more then 10 feet from you ;)

My BM/DDB is usually found lying at the feet of one member of the family or another, preferably on the feet, which he has had to settle for since he was banned from laps after an unfortunate incident with my grandma.

I have an english mastiff now that is a sweet mellow lovey boy. The most affectionate of dogs I will have to say was my Dobermann. Not only super affectionate, but demanded affection! You would not get away with a pat on the head! Hugs and kisses, constant touching, at my side every moment!
