I know with so many members here living all over the world this may seem like a crazy question, but any chance anyone will be attending this show this weekend? I will be there continuing to learn about this wonderful breed. This will be my first dog show so I'm super excited!:p

I went a couple of years ago. I would plan on spending the day. Lots to see and do. Of course every booth will try to sell you something. Have you been to the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo? It's smaller but alot like that. With no horses, that is until you get to the mastiffs. LOL

LOL!!
We're definitely planning on spending all day there Saturday and going to play Sunday by ear. Love the comparison to the rodeo, gives me an idea of what to expect. Thanks!

We did and we really enjoyed it. There was definitely a lot going on. I think we spoke to just about everyone we saw with a mastiff! Mastiff owners really love to talk about their dogs which is awesome. A few times when talking to other breeds owners/handlers they weren't nearly as friendly. I want a mastiff so bad!!

Oh, and we watched a mastiff on the agility course break the entire ramp! Talk about a big thud! It didn't scare him but it scared others around him. Guess they're not made to withstand such big dogs.

I was there most of Saturday too! Glad you had fun!

I had thought about getting into weight pulling before but watching it at the show really has me wanting to get into it! Any of you in the Houston area interested in trying to get a Mastiff weight pull group together?

Oh boy, Neo. You're going to get a taste of what summer is really like this week. Just wait until August.

As far as weight pulling. I don't know of any groups but I'm sure there are some.

I get to leave for part of August at least! We're going to the Bay Area and Tahoe for 10 days!

That big lug that broke the ramp was my Hoss. I guess it wasn't stressed for 200lbs. We spent about 4 hours there and had a great time. He had his picture taken about 50 times hundreds of pets and snuggled up to kids with disabilities in wheel chairs.

No way ozman! My husband and I came over and talked to you for a little while right after that happened. Hoss is great looking dog. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us a while about your boy.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. In the meantime I'm learning as much as I can here. Never a shortage of posts to read!
