Horrid Breath?

I get online via my phone & the search option doesnt work for me so apologize if I'm repeating a question. My 5month old english/neo has the most horrid breath I've ever smelled on a dog and I dont know why! He has plenty of hard rubber chews and bully sticks to chew on, I've given him Greenies and even denta-bones! Is it possible it's only due to teething and he'll outgrow this? Any suggestions?

Have you ever seen him eat his poo or another dogs poo? Just asking cause this could make his breath smell bad. If not then am not sure. Good luck with it and I hope he has better smelling breath soon. :)

A-HA! He gets into the cat's litter box! Have to find a way for the cats to be able to get to it but not him... thanks! Never even considered that!

I've seen cat boxes at PetSmart that are kind of spiral shaped. Not sure how big your kitties are but, but the boxes are sort of dome-like with an entry at one end and some short steps UP into the actual box part. They're not huge, but it's supposed to offer protection and, of course, limited access. Another idea is to use a baby gate to section off the room where the box is. We used one right away when we brought Oscar home to keep him out of the master bedroom. The cats can jump over/crawl under but the dog is too big to fit.

About the ONLY thing our BM doesn't eat is poop! But he loves everything else. I got them away from him, but today he was taking a keen interest in some push-tacks. He loves mulch, rocks, any stick, the empty peanut shells the squirrels leave in our yard, yogurt, bananas, he has gone after onions, he chews a non-chewable vitamin C capsule without trying to spit it out, he loves bitters spray (as he is always trying to sneak off with the bottle), and he will even swallow his flagel without spitting it out. I have NO idea why he doesn't eat his or the cats' poop, but he doesn't. Hahaha! I guess I’m lucky ;)

one cat tiny and limber, one old fat and not to limber! He could never jump a gate or squeeze into what you described! LOL! I found an old large rubbermaid tub and we cut a hole big enough for both cats but too small for pup... put the litter box inside. as of now we dont need the lid...lol!

It took him one day to realize he could just lean over the top to get the "protein crunchies" my cats left behind! We now have a wire shelf piece on top of it. Breath is getting better!

Could also be teething. When Junior or my previous dogs would lose teeth it would produce some rough smelling breath.

And yes, the cat box. Dogs love those Kitty Rochas. ;) I catch Junior litteraly sneaking down the hallway to see if he can get in the bedroom where the catbox is. We have wood floors and I hear his nails. click ..... click ..... click .... JUNIOR! ....... click .... click

I had a dog that we rescued from a shelter. She would eat poo (copraphagia). We ordered some "Distaste". It can come in powder to be poured over food or in a dry snack treat. We bought the treats and the dogs loved them. You give it to the animal whose poo is being eaten. So if it's a cat, give it to your cat. I am pretty sure you can get it for cats. (might need to check though). Believe it or not, the product is suppossed to make the dog's poo taste BAD!

Since we had 5 dogs at the time and we didn't know whose poo was being eaten or if it was everyones, we just gave everybody a treat! It helped. However, there is something about dogs and cat poo. They are just obsessed with it for some reason....
