Help with hair loss

Hi, everyone. Norman, our 1 year old, has hair loss on bothflanks. It's been gradual, but it's gotten noticeably worse inthe last month. We took him in and the Vet had no clue what could be causing it. We thought it may be allergies but he doesn't scratch ever. She tested for mites and that was negative. I know it's a common problem, so if anyone has any insight or info it's greatly appreciated. He's on grain free food and we also have a topical spray we use for hotspots as well. The condition is still worsening. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Can you post a picture? I had a foster boxer that had seasonal flank alopecia. I had him for almost three years and every year he would lose hair in two patches on his sides, then grow it back after a time. It grew back a different color. I wonder if this is what you're dealing with?

I too had a boxer with this problem. He was fine for his first 3 years and then every year from ages 4-6 he would lose his hair and then it would grow back. Very strange. After age 6 it stopped happening. No changes is food, no mites or mange, our vet said he thought it was essentially a seasonal allergy to something.
