Help with fleas please

I would really appreciate any advice on dealing with fleas. Over the last four weeks we have had a recurring problem with fleas, seemingly clearing them and then they reappear. We have gone over the house with flea spray, particularly where the dogs sleep and have tried flea treatments and then flea shampoo. We have two cats which don't seem to be having a problem and are flea free. It seems as if we clear the dogs and then one of them has a reoccurance.

Any advice or product types would be so gratefully recieved!!

I haven't found anything to help with Bill but I did find something that helps in the house(if anyone has tips for the dog I would be more than grateful) there is a carpet powder that Hartz puts out Ultra Guard flea and tick powder it works really well but the fleas just keep coming back because they are on Bill. when you spread it on the carpet they want you to leave it for an hour or more so when you plan on doing it have plans to get everyone out of the house for a lil bit it tore up my lungs. but I wasn't bit for a while after I used it. Hopefully that will help and another tip that I found useful is vaccuuming everyday.

Sounds like you have been killing the adult fleas but not the eggs.

A lot of the sprays and shampoo's contain lots of toxic chemicals that are not so good for pets or humans. I would recomend using diatomaceous earth. It is a fine powder which at the microscopic level is razor sharp. Insects shells are cut up as the powder gets on them. Kills the flea in all its life cycles. Completely safe for pets and people, can be sprinkled on floors, bedding, dusted into the pets coat, and used in the yard as well.

Comb your dog everyday with a flea comb, vaccume every day and wash pet bedding every other day until they are gone for good!

Also, you may want to try treating around the outside of your house.... alot of time the fleas find ways in from the outside, be it on your pet or from tiny cracks around the house. I had issues a few years back and once I treated the yard then the house... no more fleas! Hope this helps!
