it started two days ago, took poor Cooper to the vet but Xrays didn't show anything and attributed it to soft tissue inflammation. He is very lethargic and doesn't want to eat or drink much. he gets a little more hungry after he gets pain meds. i read a lot about pano but no one talks about the lethargy. I'm worried about our little guy.

I know when my EM had his growth spurt that caused Pano symptoms he didn't do much at all for a couple of days. I know when my legs hurt I don't want to walk so it didn't surprise me when he didn't want to either. One thing I did was to massage his legs, it seemed to help.

No, she did no other tests other than the typical weight, temp, heartbeat, breathing. I ask about the possibility of Pano and all she said was "possibly." Yesterday, with his pain meds, he was doing much better, even walking better and a little more lively. However I think maybe he did too much because late last night and this morning he is in a good amount of pain and won't put any weight on his leg.

Poor baby... Have you tried to feed him high value food, i.e. hamburger, chicken, etc.? If it's Pano, it will resolve itself but it will take time.

Please keep us posted.

Cooper, seems to be feeling a little better, starting to get into trouble again. I am leaning more now to an injury than pano. His "knee" is noticeably swollen. The swelling has gone down a bit since yesterday. He still isn't as interested in his food as he usually is but a couple of tiny pieces of hot dog gets his sniffer going enough to chow down. The tricky part now is keeping him under control so he doesn't re-inure himself. Thank you all for your suggestions and insight. I will update on his progress. NOTE: on the topic of high value food, we are trying to stay away from chicken since he has demonstrated a inability to process it...bad diarrhea.

Hmm. I'm not really sure. Poor baby! My little girl tore her acl at 6 month's old. Knee wasn't swollen though. Hm. Like you said probably just needs rest so he doesn't reinjure himself. Pups are so hard to keep down!

cooper is doing much better with the limping but now we are concerned because he still isn't eating like he should. It looks like it is hard for him to eat his kibble. Do you think @ 4mo his teeth are coming in? should we try softening his food?
