HELP!! Mom is away she's not eating

Ok I'm the momma and I'm away for a few days and dad is at home with my 16 month old EM Kaya. Kaya has been getting picky about her food lately and has been turning her nose up at her kibble. She eats Earthborn Hollistic dry food with wet mixed in. She has never been the type to devour her food but she would eat most meals. So lately she's seemed uninterested and we had that nasty heat wave at the same time so I attributed it to the heat. But she lost 4 lbs and I had her at the vet for her annual and spoke with the vet about it. She said it probably started with the heat wave and now she has an upset stomach from not eating and gave her something to calm her belly if it was upset and told me to feed her boiled chicken or ground hamburger and rice with her kibble, which she then devoured! I was a happy momma! That went for a week before I decided her stomach must be better and went back to her regular kibble with wet mixed in and her nose went up in the air and she walked away. So, now she refuses to eat her food if there isn't chicken or hamburger in there. I've read a lot about picky eaters and am wondering how many days you would let your dog not eat before you give them what they will eat? So, today is day 2 of her not eating breakfast or dinner. Tomorrow starts day 3. I feel like that is too long... I need some advice. I'm out of town until Saturday but Kaya is at home with Dad and won't eat. What to do?

My Irish Setter mix just went thru the same thing. He was actually making himself sick by not eating. You could tell he was hungry but just wouldn't eat. I had to change the flavour of Orijen that I was feeding him. Irish Setters as a breed are finicky eaters and unfortunately despite only being 50% IS he gained both the positive and negative traits and very little of the Golden to temper them.

Sunds like your dog isn't really into your food choice. Mastiffs are really stubborn and will go a full week without really eating to prove a point, you just have to figure out which point she is proving! I would suggest adding something like yogurt to her food to get her interested or finding a new brand.
