Thanks! Was it a good reaction to the clicker or a bad one? Yes, he sends lots of virtual ones haha.

Hector is just so awesome! You, as well as others here, are so inspiring to watch and see what is possible. And that hold and drop made my jaw drop. I may have to try that one just for kicks. Lol Please keep posting more videos:)

Thank you very much! It's really fun. Yes, we are working towards our next level, so there will be more.

Here is what we are working on. I taught spin today so I need to phase down the hand signal still. Also I stole your hand signal (i think) for feet on. Place is something we only just recently started doing so working on just pointing vs. standing right next to the spot and duration. Bow we are still working on duration so he does not lay down or pop back up. I also need to video in a brighter room! If it wasn't raining I would have gone outside.

Oh that's so great!!! Go ahead and steal all you want. I'm at a point where I need to steal hand signals because I noticed every thing is a finger point or open palm and that makes it confusing when I'm just using hand signals. You don't need to phase out any hand signals and I love your video editing - so jealous haha. I can see the video fine. Bow is something I gave up on. At one time he can do it, but I don't have to patience to teach it anymore. Sit pretty is also something we can never do.

yea I meant tone down the hand signal so it's less luring. For example the spin but he literally did learn it 5 min before the video. And place, I don't want to have to walk right up to the spot.

Oh that's great. I completely understand the confusion. I say okay (our release word in training) when speaking and he's like what do you mean okay.

I have released dogs in the stay before while evaluating for the therapy group. I said "ok, walk back to your dog" and the dog heard "ok" and broke the stay. Now I am very cautious and try to use gestures instead of words. I wish I would have taught a less common release word like "free".

Yeah, next time I'm using the word "break".

This is one of the reasons why working dogs in our country learn commands in foreign language - they prefer english or german.

There are also words that they try not to use (the ones you say too often like here as you mentioned OK).

My brother has a rescue dog and does mainly english commands with her. It's pretty good trick to make yourself think twice before you say anything :D
