We should be getting our cert and ribbon this week. He is more and more fun to work with as he ages. I have noticed more drive and more willingness to work and please. I love it. 1/2 the tricks qualify for intermediate lol. It's their fault when they list intermediate tricks under novice list....I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did. Thank you everyone! I love teaching him new things. There will be many more. His kisses are so violent. Sometimes he head butts me on the chin or muzzle punches really hard because he gets so excited. YES, his hold it and drop it with food is probably the most impressive of all hahaha. It is my all time favorite, his all time most hated, but also rewarded with the best stuff.

Boxergirl, it's through Do More With Your Dog. If you go to their site and look under trick dog titles, you will see the trick list and how to submit application. The easiest way is to join a spark team on facebook. First you would join the novice teams. There are two that I know of: Heroic Novice Spark Team and Take A Chance Novice Spark Team. I decided to go with Take A Chance when I saw sdavenport recommended it. If you join Take A Chance, you would message and send your videos to Tess Starr or post your videos in the group and tag her. Once the videos are approved by her, you can go online and submit your application with a fee of $19.99 and extra if you want a ribbon.

scorning, it was really hard to get Hector to hold anything. He hates holding things and doesn't have the natural drive to retrieve. The only way for him to hold was when he was worked up so I started there and built upon it. One day I experimented with dog chews and it was hilarious and totally impressed me so that's how he got so good with holding food.

Yes! He does cheeseburger, hotdog, and raw meat holds lol. I know I don't hold my cheeseburgers for long lol, poor Hector.

Definitely try the chew for hold. That's basically how we do it and then transfer it to other things with very brief duration.

You inspired me to teach bear to put his front feet on something tonight. I wish I could have gotten it on camera, he figured it out so quick. I love watching his mind working! The trick title sounds interesting. Do they have specific tricks they have to do? Bear knows sit, come, down, wait, place, bow, jump, feet on, touch, leave it, stand and we are working on kiss and his sit pretty is getting there.

Yea, there is a list you can choose from. Basic obedience would cover half of the qualifications, but we like to spice things up a bit.
