Well, I brought Magnum home yesterday afternoon and it is going really well. Ruger was/is super excited so I have to watch that he doesn't squish him but I believe they are going to be great friends!
Ruger and I have had our "routine" for a long time now so it is has definitely been an experience.
Let's see: Yesterday Ruger was out in the yard with Magnum and letting Magnum sniff and Magnum nipped his nuts! Needless to say, Ruger was not a happy camper but I was happily surprised at how he handled it. First, he jumped out of his skin but instead of retaliating, He walked a couple feet away and raised mortal hell at the little white thing that bit his goodies. He barked, growled, threatened but never attempted to "get" him so I consider it a good thing! Magnum didn't give one damn considering he can't hear Ruger's big mouth!! :lolbangtable:
Last night I put Magnum to bed at 9:45pm and he got me up at 1:20am. He pottied like a big boy but had no desire to go back to sleep...Yawn.....But by 2:30 he fast asleep again. Let me tell you, He can't hear but he an damn sure talk! LMAO He got back up at 6:15am went to the bathroom outside wonderfully, ate his breakfast like a little hog, went to the bathroom again and then his true colors came out. I did not get a Great Dane, I got a little white alligator!!! He ran around just trying to chew everything with a mad need! It is definitely interesting since you can't verbally redirect so you have to follow him around and get him to look at you to tell him "No".
Ruger keeps checking on him to make sure he is ok but still isn't quite sure what to make of him and still gets too excited when Magnum takes off running. He ran up on him earlier and scared the hell out of him....Magnum ran away a bit then stopped and barked and jumped to let Ruger know just how unhappy he was with him. LOL
Did I mention....I am TIRED! LMAO
Without further ado.......Mr. Alligator himself:
