hazel is always trying to play with the cat. Like the cat can't walk across the living room often w/o the dog jumping down and trying to play and scaring the cat into perching herslf on the back of a chair. I know sh is prolly just playing and not trying hurt the cat..but she hurts us unintentionally when she plays too rough..but we are big and the cat is small. I don't want her to hurt the cat. Or have her hunting instinct kick in mid-chase. I hve no clue how to stop her tho she doesn't listen if we tell her to stop. She is too focused in playing. Any ideas? Or will we just hve to wait til she grows out of it?

Well she wont grow out of it thats for sure... try getting her attention when you see the cat walking in the room before Hazel see the cat. and give her a treat for keeping her focus on you... just keep giving her treats for not paying attention on the cat.

If that doesnt work, try keeping her on a long leash and when she goes after the cat stop her with the leash and correct her immediately! If you let her get away with it she will just think that it is exceptable and it is NOT! Once shes full grown she can seriously injure or kill the cat.
