Guarding Instincts?

The guy that did Thor has American Bull dogs and Mals. before that he had pits. Towards the end he tried to build up Thor's confidence by "retreating", looking back at the video and comparing it to these I think the approach could have been handled better.

Your guy might do fine with some work.

IMO If its not a hardcore PPD breed(Fila, BB, Ovcharka etc.) and is a standard mastiff breed or working breed, then every dog is a different case during initial temp test or bite work. Especially if the dog was not raised with other working breed dogs and based on my personal experience with the dog it may be counter productive for the decoy to even make physical contact with the dog or have it bite. It is OK to agitate the dog only the first time or 2 and run the decoy off to build his confidence before moving on to bitework. For hardcore PPD's, they should bite first and ask questions later even on the initial test without prior training at the proper age.

I found this one kind of funny..

Mufasa is a pretty cool dog, he went from working to playing with my son when we met him. Stable, cool temperament :)
He was the first CC to get a SCH III
@ Dogman, loved those video's. Serious Dane, lol! Poor decoy, being hit by that must leave some serious bruises :D
