Gagging Issue

Has anyone ever had an issue with their dog gagging? Today my male Corso started gagging, but only when he yawned and when he held his ball in his mouth. He has been eating and drinking normally, no vomiting, and seems fine otherwise. I took his ball away for the day.. I checked for obstructions but I couldn’t see anything with his big tongue in the way. I thought maybe he had a piece of grass or a hair hanging in his throat or something, but I’m assuming the two meals he’s had today would have worked it down if that was the case. Maybe it’s congestion?

Thoughts??

He stopped gagging but now one of his eyes is swollen! I’m telling you, if it’s not one thing it’s another...

give him a benadryl , it's the time of year he may have eaten a bee , which would explain the gagging ........... i've seen my dogs accidently eat a bee when picking pears off the ground ......

I'm hoping that his eye is either from a stick/branch or maybe his sissy scratched him. I feel like I've seen his eye get swollen before. It doesn't really look like cherry eye, but who knows. His gagging is gone today, and his eye swelling went down a little today. I will give him a Benadryl tonight when I get home. It can't hurt him.
