I blame the vet on this, had he taken the whole thing seriously 7 days ago Chaos would not have shut down. I will not let him care for my dogs at this point.

The vet tech says they are still hoping he will snap out of it. Lisa is hand feeding baby food. I am just about stressed to the end of my ropes.

That's awful. I feel like my family had experienced the feeling of the vet not doing enough back when my parent's dog was hospitalized for parvo. Not even my dog but I was there every day praying for her to make it. Such a horrible thing to watch an animal go through I can't even imagine what Lisa is going through. I know if it were one of my babies I'd be beyond beside myself. I'll send up some prayers for little Chaos. Hope he turns a corner.

Some vets I look at and wonder who let them practice in the first place! It's like people believe because it's an animal, it's okay - NO IT'S NOT!

Chaos seems like a brave boy! Sending prayers his way to get better. Mike: You did everything you possibly could, and I'm proud to know you! Restores my faith in humankind :)

Chaos is still fighting. He got up and drank water by himself yesterday and today, but still will not eat without assistance. I recommended Lisa try a marble sized ball of raw hamburger to see if her will try that. The vet did not saw bland diet or restrict but who knows what this guy is thinking. The way she is feeding him right now is by smearing baby food around his mouth and lips and he licks it off. She said they cut him open from chest all the way down.

I agree with a little bit of Handburger. He needs something to stimulate his stomach to wake it up after not having anything in it. Basically all his organs need stimulation to get them to work again.

Has she tried a pamblum like food that is slightly warm. i am just thinking the more it gives off a scent the more he would likly try it.

Omg that poor dog. It breaks my heart. Every time I see that you have posted on here I'm almost scared to read it . What about a little peanut butter that has allot of nutrients in it

Not sure what all she has tried yet. But I have told her to stay away from any grains for right now just see if she can get his insides turned on again. His mind is probably messed up about food too seeing as every time he tried eating it would cause violent vomiting and I bet it was painful too.

I agree with no grains. I was going for more of a warmed up babyfood with little ground up handburger with some water in it. More like a soup. Something he could Lap up and not have to chew.

Yep good idea, even getting the hamburg warmed up will make a difference just don't cook it till it gets solid.

Thnx tb44,
When I was very young my mom introduce me to a very big old guy named Charlie. He was a true mountain man. Even killed a bear with a .22 revolver pistol one time. He was a big influence on me he tought me how to chop wood and hike the mountains and such but he was always telling me stories about people and what was good and bad about people. I actually bought my first car from him. He passed away many years ago from respiratory failure. But now that I can look back, he was teaching me all those years ago with those stories. If it wasn't for him who knows who I would be today.

Not good. Threw up several times in the night and now drooling excessively. I have seen that before and it never turned out good. Throwing up could have undid his stomach repairs or infection could have set in. I will be out of touch with Lisa (and Leah the V Tech) until Monday. I am afraid I won't hear good news next we speak.
