As sad as it is, some dogs just cannot be "saved." This one already has an extensive bite history. His victims are lucky to have lived to tell the tale. Can you imagine the liability if these people place a dog with a known bite history and he seriously hurts someone? Or worse? Definite candidate for humane euthansia, if all is true, in my book.

Agreed unfortunately despite the fact that he's a gorgeous boy.

I agree. As much as I would hope he could be save, it would be a long process. He is beautiful but...They should do a video on the dog and show people why chained dogs are bad. He may be in a fenced yard but he is still treated like a chained dog. My question is whether or not that is really the BIL dog or did he get a big dog, couldn't handle him so he stuck him in the backyard. I have heard that story before. It's a friend's dog, honest.

On a side note, he should get the dog out of the house and not try to make it someone else's problem. I had an uncle who purchased a wolf/shepherd. The dog was beautiful but the only person who could go up to it was my uncle. He had him chained outside near the entrance to his garage so people wouldn't break into the garage (he was a self employed mechanic). Anyway, the dog got off one day, got into the house and attacked his wife and kids. He came home to blood all over the house and his wife and kids hiding in the closet. Thankfully the injuries weren't life threatening. If the dog is truly that aggressive, for his family's sake, he is going to have to make a hard choice here.

I have a leather suit, gloves and a full face sport bike helmet lol, I'll give it a go.

I'd love to work with the dog, got two friends that are vets I guess I could ask about some sort of sedation.. he would need something for the ride home once you were able to get him out of the back yard.

That is great joshua. I hope that everything works well and that you can rehabilitate him. :) Keep us posted.

Sedation might be a great idea. so you can get him into an environment you can control better.

If he's that aggressive he's gonna need some serious sedation. I've tried giving an already pissed off dog some acepromazine & all it did was make it worse. The best thing for the dog is give him a sedative when he's semi relaxed. And he's gonna need a big dose.

Josh, I really hope you can get him & rehabilitate him. I'm surprised animal control has not intervened if he's bitten that many people.

What a sad story that this dog was allowed to end up like this....and he's so gorgeous on top of it!

Good luck Joshua - and bless you for even thinking of taking him on. Keep us posted.

Still no reply from that posting, sent two emails with all my contact info. Hoping they reply.

If yall see anymore contact info for the CL poster let me know, I'll go pick him up anytime. My fear is someone trying to get him and him getting loose.

That could end very poorly.

Good luck! And God bless you for trying! Please make sure, if you do try it, that's he's well sedated for the ride to your place. Can you even imagine him coming around in the car???

I'm praying for the very best possible outcome for this boy. Sitting here looking at my Camo snoring at my feet, and I just can't imagine someone letting such a love bug get into that mental state. Makes me thank the good Lord that the folks I got him from had the good sense to know it wasn't going to work for them and gave him to me while he was still young. His situation could very easily have turned into a mess like that poor boy.

We definitely will sedate, and he would be riding back in a crate.. I'll probably cover it with a heavy dark sheet in case he were to awake.

I'm thinking of buying some hamburger meat or a steak to put the meds in, why someone would try to noose the dog given he was already in a aggressive mode is beyond me. I'm brave and a pretty good sized guy but I'm not that dumb, your not going to out muscle that dog.

Josh,

Hope these folks respond to you with their information so the dog can be helped and be with someone that could teach him to be a loving dog.

Best Of Luck To You!

Still no luck? I hope that they haven't had a bunch of idiots out there trying to wrangle this dog onto a leash & into a car.
