Food Consumption During Summer Months

Hi everyone
I have noticed my pup had reduced his food intake a bit during the hot months. is this normal due to the heat and humidity? he is still putting on weight and has lots of energy but he is eating about 3/4 of what he used to eat in May/June. It has only been 2-3 weeks of this and the vet says he feels good around the ribs.

Any thoughts?

Yes, it's normal. My guys all eat a bit less when it's hot out. I kind of compare it to how I personally don't like having huge, heavy meals when it's hot out either. As long as the pup is playing, drinking and going potty normally then I wouldn't be concerned.

Yeah, my guy eats waaay less when it's hot out. Just weighed him and he's lost 7 lbs since mid May.

Fyi. In the Marine's a regular MRE has about 2000 calories. ....a cold weather MRE has about 3500

I have an Old English Mastiff, male, 4 1/2 months. We just saw the vet Monday. He was 50 pounds. He is not eating as much as I would like for him to. He is drinking some. He seems to be laying around more than usual and I am a bit concerned. Are there any suggestions?

Thank you. I think I see the problem. I am using my phone and it doesn't appear to have this option. Thank you for taking the time to point this out. I appreciate it!
