Food aggression/ guarding?

My Corso will be 5 months on the 15th of this month. Yesterday I gave him a few leg quarters in his crate. My mother and sister came to the house. This was my sister's first time seeing him. She walked over to the crate and he growled at her. I didn't think much of it as he does not know her, has not seen her, and had food in his crate. He does not do that with me or my wife. Would this be a concern for any of you guys?

If your CC was in the crate, I'm going to guess he didn't see you let your sister in the house. If that's the case, bark and growl is what he is suppose to do at first sight. My wife's sister comes over to our house sometime so Carma knows her. But last week her fiancé came over for the first time. Carma was in her crate and soon as she smelled him come in the door she went APE SH**. My wife neglected to let Carma out the crate so Carma could see that my wife let them in. She learned her lesson. lol

sounds like you got what you paid for. A good gaurd. On this occasion, probably of her bones.
My rottie x bordeaux is NOT friendly to anyone outside of immediate family, if there are bones left around and folks just waltz in like they own the place!
