Fila brasileiro working

yea it is. There is another guy that just started with his Fila and we are trying to make him post pics. He says that his Fila might actually be the best hog dog he has ever had but he goes after the other hunters and he is possessive of the boar with the other dogs so he has to keep working on him.

Dogman, this guy's from eastern Europe and part of the CAFIB group on FB, right? I remember a lot of those pics he posted. His working Filas are very impressive, hogs too! Nothing nastier than a Russian wild boar.

We have been trying to start Delilah on some hogs but we are trying to overcome her dog aggression.

The south eastern part. And I have a friend in OR with them on his property. Were still working with tame pigs the big problem is she likes to be solo. Doesn't care much for the other dogs.

Nice pics Juan. Looks like 5 catch dogs and 2 strike dogs(Fila and Dogo). For those using strong prey drive Filas for hunting don't confuse that drive with dog aggression. Even an Alpha bitch Fila will latch onto other dogs when training/hunting, this is not normally actual dog aggression and should disappear when they get on prey.

Not sure where this guy is from actually. Yea, if it was actual dog aggression the the "fight" would have been on as soon as all the dogs were released, this is more of a dominance and possessive thing then anything else.

Exactly. But many people confuse that with dog aggression. Sometimes it is just hard "Filar" playing even as young adults. If you observe it is usually always at or behind the ear which is proper placement for hunting.

Yeah she is rough but she has a serious problem with a couple of the dogs we have tried to run her with.

If that's the case then she may not be a good choice as a pack type hunting dog. It is one thing to get injured by the prey animal it is another thing to have another member of the pack doing the injuring... kinda doubles your chances of having to go to the vet.

Yeah that's the way we have been thinking. Were trying a few other combos of dogs to see how she does. But if she cant get over it. Then yeah she won't be used.

Good pics man. Funny you say behind the ear. When I let the dogs out, once they come back through the door, Kona goes for Duke every single time. Right behind the ear. She dont bite him but she mouth him while making all kinda noise. If I hold her back duke can get on the sofa and she leaves him. Any place but the sofa and it could be 20min later and she has to get him. I've tried everything to stop it and it only delays it. Redirects, leave her out back, what ever I could try. But she dont hurt him so what ever. I figure she feels the need to lay down the rules everytime.

im a little late to this forum but those pictures are awesome i want to try Athena on hog because her prey drive is crazy, her and little Kronos play who's the hog all the time i think she should do well... id love to see more pictures of it. but she is VERY dominant even to male dogs that give her bad vibes so putting her in a pack could be bad.
