Fila Brasileiro-Trigger (Pictures, Videos, Temprament etc)

Trigger is an impressive boy, for real. Thanks for sharing the videos and pics- a fascinating breed.

Maybe in my next life, I would consider a Fila, and would be proud to own one. Not seeing it happen for me, though, within my circumstances.

By the way, I agree with you on the neutering (don't do it, unless medically necessary) and the raw food diet as being optimal for our dogs. I feel strongly about both issues...

Thank you for the videos.

Trigger is getting HUGE and that head of his OMG!! He is so damn handsome I love his wrinkles.

He is amazing love seeing the difference between how he is with family and with a stranger. :) His temp is looking good.

Stop being mean to that poor boy and let him sleep. :)
I love his temperament as well, its straight out of the textbook. It never ceases to amaze me how tolerant he is with family. I can literally grab him by the skin when he is laying down and, drag him all over the floor; he'll be more than happy to play along. One thing that i haven't been able to capture on video is how a fila gets in the middle of the owner and his friend that the fila tolerates but is still iffy about. It's pretty cool how the dog goes from standing beside you, to sitting right in front of you, across from the person your talking to. Its one thing to read about it and another to see it in action. Hopefully I get it on vid soon.
I have no problem with him sleeping, the only problem is that he is sleeping on top of me and i cant get up lol.

Thanks for the compliment!! I really appreciate all the feedback. Filas truly are an amazing breed. The loyalty and devotion more than make up for any short comings that one may find. I'm glad you share my views on neutering and raw diet. Today's society makes it far too easy to take advantage of dog owners that only want the best for their dogs. Even vets preach neutering dogs early and advise feeding dog food over raw, which is down right preposterous and they are suppose to be the experts on our animals. Don't get me not all vets are equal but my experience in the past have been very enlightening to say the least.

He's a good looking boy, great temperament.

I wish I could feed raw. I have a fear that my boys would drag the meat all over the house instead of eating it in the bowl, creating a daily mess to clean up. The only other thing that holds me back is that I don't know what i'm doing, which makes me uncomfortable.

If there was a very specific plan laid out for me for feeding, i'd be a lot more receptive to raw. (If any of you want to volunteer to create some sort of feeding plan for me, don't hesitate to contact me )

Feeding raw is the best!! But in India we can't do that. Here meat can't be fed raw due to lots of health problems in the animals :(. Thats why i feed them TOTW or N&D.

What about chicken? the butcher always has the parts that they don't sell for human consumptions. You can get them for free or very cheap. we use to have a stray kitten back in India that got severely injured; after nursing it to good health it never left . We use to go to the local butcher and grab the meat for free and the kitten loved it. Animal have very high tolerance they dont get sick easily that's why in the wild predators especially look for sick animals since they are easy prey.

I've increased green tripe in the last few years and I love the results- do you tripe?
you bet i do!!!! but i dont do it constantly, I cycle my meat from chicken to beef etc, in my opinion that's healthier since the diet is varied and more natural.
