"Durable" dog toys.

I'm sure many of you had the experience of buying a toy for your pup that was "durable" to only be destroyed by the night fall the same day. For example, I bought a "strong" rubber bone meant for strong chewers.. got it home and was picking up rubber pieces the rest of the night! lol. I have found that black Kongs and Deer antlers are 2 things that Nova has yet been able to destroy (hiding them and not finding them is another topic:D.) What are some toys your dogs play with?

Try Orbee one piece toys. they're pretty tough and guaranteed. If it gets destroyed, just call them and they'll put another one in the mail at no cost The glow in the dark ball is a lot of fun at night. And there from a forward looking company which is always nice.

Oh I need to follow this one and get some ideas.. Odin has destroyed every thing we've gotten in a matter of hours tops and that's for the "tough" toys, most last less than 30 mins lol. I've been thinking of trying antlers, I'll have to see if I can find some.

I have given up in the toy department...even antlers...she has no interest. We play ball and Frisbee....besides that, she destroys any toy she owns!

someone sent me the link to a product called Varsity balls (think that is the spelling) for our outdoor area that I am going to get some sent up I think. They have never had one break I don't think.

I'll check out the Orbee toys. Nova would have a blast with the glow in the dark ball!! The sad thing is she is a chewer and a tugger, she only fetches when another dog is chasing a ball... she chases the dog ! lol

BlackShadow let me know what you think of them if you don't mind! I'm always hesititant to spend anything over 5 dollars because when it comes to toys I don't get my moneys worth typically at that point.

KristieD antlers are amazing! The bigger ones may be a little pricey but Nova has yet to destroy one and she can destroy anything! The only problem I run into with them is that she hides them and I nor her can find where she put them!! But they work great and are steardy! Worth a try.

we get zola the nylabone durabones to chew on, she starts to wear down the ends, but loves chewing on them and they do hold up pretty well.... got her a Benebone, she loves them but they tend to wear a little faster

The best toys we have found are the Jolly Ball (the 'soft' version with NO handle), ropes (which also clean their teeth), antlers, DuraChew Monster Nylabone, and Kongs.

We bought him the Tuffy pig and if we left him alone with it, he's have it ripped apart in minutes. So for expensive speical toys like that, we give it to him when we can fully supervise him and then put it in a closet until next time. We also give him the purple Squirrel Dude (similar to a Kong, but has nibs for challenge) and again don't leave him alone with that either because it isn't as durable as a Kong.

Good thread. The black Kong's are the only ones that my Luther has not destroyed yet, although after having them for few months he kind of lost interest in them and the Nylabone also... So I keep trying out new "durable" and fun toys for him, most end up in pieces in a very short time. I never tried the deer antlers, might have to give those a try. As far as the Jolly Ball, Cyndnelson mentioned, that one lasted about an hour. :( But he sure had fun destroying it. :D
