Dogue in heat.

My Dogue Harley just turned 6 months. I consulted with a specialist that is saying we shouldn't fix her until 1 1/2 years of age if we want her to grow to her true size(her father is 160lbs and mother is 130lbs). Ive been told the

growth is depending on hormones for this breed. I'm prepping for her first heat cycle (buying extra blankets and diapers). What is the normal time for them to go into heat?
My Boston terrier/boxer went into heat at about 6 months. But I'm curious if it's different because the mastiffs grow off of their hormones (or so I've been told).

My Gigi was 9 months and it lasted 18 days the first time. She has had 3 now that have been 6 months apart.

I don't know about Dogo but my neo littermates had different "timing": Sophia at approx 8 months and Luna at 10. I'd recommend blankets, diapers and some good headphones... I didn't sleep the last 3 nights, listening to Luna's serenade.

My Presa girl was 10 month. She is in her 3rd heat right now. Yes, some old sheets and blankets will come in very handy. Can't wait to get back to normal...
