And from the facebook page:
[h=6]To our ToTW Friends & Fans: Even though no samples of ToTW have tested positive for salmonella, we are voluntarily recalling certain batches of the product from distributor and retailer shelves as a precautionary measure. We are acting out of concern for the health and safety of our customers and their pets.

Please visit www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com to determine if your product is included in this recall. If your product DOES NOT match the information on the site, you may safely continue to feed it to your pet.

Your safety and the health of your pets are important to us. We are taking this action to ensure that we have products available on store shelves that meet our high quality standards. We apologize for any trouble this has caused and thank you for your continued loyalty.[/h]

Wow this is just unbelievable......Of course my state is listed. I am not sure to either throw the TOTW away or finish it out. I have to wait until Monday to order the new food.

Yes you keep an eye out for all of us, what would we do without you, lol. Dog food guru indeed!

My state is listed too :( I was feeding TOTW until about November when that issue occured with a person's dog in another forum. They have a monopoly on so many brands and it's ridiculous that they keep having so many recalls. If you're this far through a bag, I would be tempted to just finish it out. I believe when there's a voluntary recall its at the discretion of pet stores whether they will refund or exchange for you, but I'm not entirely sure. It's worth calling wherever you got the food from and asking.

It can be. In this case there's been several reports of ill dogs and at least 14 cases of people affected.

Pets with Salmonella infections may have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. If left untreated, pets may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian. We do not have any confirmed reports of pet illnesses.

Individuals handling dry pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with surfaces exposed to this product. Healthy people who believe they may have been exposed to Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. According to the Centers for Disease Control, people who are more likely to be affected by Salmonella include infants, children younger than 5 years old, organ transplant patients, people with HIV/AIDS and people receiving treatment for cancer. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have received a limited number of reports of salmonellosis, the illness caused by Salmonella. We are working with the CDC, but due to patient confidentiality, we cannot comment further.

Which is why I went raw. I know its not an option for you at the moment, but it just got to the point where it felt like every time I turned around there was ANOTHER recall....
This is why we are most likely going to switch to raw when we move and get settled. We have no sources of meat here but should when we move.
