Confused on puppy food?!

I am so confused, next week I will be getting an 8 week old bullmastiff puppy.The breeder is feeding Pro Plan puppy which I really don't like but anyways my question is what type of food should I go with. I was looking into Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain( lamb) but I'm not sure. Would like some suggestions to help me out. I will be feeding the pro plan for a little while until i find something better. Don't want to do to many changes at once. Thanks a bunch in advance.

Try earthborn holistics or Fromm family. Those two foods didn't had a recall till now. Fromm family has a lot of varieties so your dog won't get bored of the same food.

Mastiff puppies do not need to eat puppy food, they need to eat the large breed food.

I agree, Earthborn Holisistics Grain Free is a great food. Generally, mastiffs are allergic to chicken and grain in kibble. I would recommend a chicken and grain free food.

Remember to do a slow transition to the new food.

Slow transition to the new food is as follows to prevent diarrhea. If at any time during the transition, the pup has diarrhea return to previous amounts of food per feeding.

Amount per feeding:

Day 1-4 ¾ cup of old food and ¼ cup of new food.

Day 5-9 ½ cup of old food and ½ cup of new food.

Day 10-14 ¾ cup of new food and ¼ cup of old food

Day 15 Start 100% of new food

Is the bull mastiff the same sex as the GD?

Hello!! Again so I finally got my bullmastiff pup and his name is George. So my issue is is that the pro plan lamb and rice puppy food that the breeder was feeding him is not available where I live and I ran out of the little ziplock bag that she gave to me, I tried to start the transition with the little amount that I had gotten from her. So now my little guy has really soft poo, sometimes like soft ice cream and mostly like butt exploding cow patties. What can I do to help ease him to the new food. I have been giving pure pumpkin o hopefully help harder his stool.... Suggestion would help.

Reset his system. Start him on boiled rice and chicken or beef. Keep him on that for about a week slowly adding the new food into the rice mixture after about 3 or 4 days.
