Chicken feet?

DD, hearts are a muscle meat not a organ.

Baby, I like pork ribs, turkey necks and turkey butts.
Titan used to love turkey necks but he's avoiding them now. I just threw away 6 turkey necks because they sat in the fridge for about 10 days. I kept putting one out in his food but he pushed it aside.

Ok guys. I would love to get Murphy all those gross treats but I really don't know what to ask for. He needs bones and after reading "no weight bearing" Im not sure what to ask for for bones either. I have a few local butchers so its not a problem. Just don't wanna look like an idiot when he asks what I want
You should really feed him raw meaty bones. For example, turkey drumsticks, turkey drumsticks, chicken legs, chicken leg quarters, chicken feet, etc. I used to feed Titan pigs feet but it was weight too much bone.

When we got him he came with a bag of cut up bone. It was full of marrow. I am guessing it was a leg bone of some big animal. They were about 4inches thick. He loves to chew things but doesn't like nylabones. How do I ask or what do I ask for when wanted to get these bones?
I am making my Murphy meat market list lol. Is there any special prep to be done with the above mentioned?

Fresh, raw, as they are definetly, though if the cut is overly fatty I'll trim that off first.

Ribs, both beef and pork (not short ribs though, they're short enough for a large dog to swollow) if you can get them on sale. If you can get Spare ribs they're about the perfect length IMO. Turkey parts as mentioned above, chicken parts (but not wings, they're small enough for a large dog to swollow). Pork leg bones would be ok, pork necks (my two love them). My local Wegmans has recently had a running thing on goat and my two have taken a liking to it. If you can get them cheaply sheep/lamb/goat/veal bones would all be fine.

I have a question about pork necks. I have seen them at the grocery store but it looks like they are cut into pieces. Is that ok to feed cut up pork necks? I buy a lot of meat made by Rumba.

Thats one of those things.....in general large chunks of bone cut professionally CAN BE bad due to the risk of the saw heating the bone (ie, cooking it), also sometimes those cuts can cause really sharp edges on the bone. On the other hand it varies. The pork necks I buy at my local grocery are cut up, but don't have sharp edges. I've fed them no problem though I try to make sure any SMALL peices go to Arty not Apollo. Now the pork necks I just got from the local wholesaler are the whole neck minus the skin, I had to go buy a new hacksaw just so's I could package them.....

I'll check them out to see how small the pieces are and be sure Titan could not swallow them whole. So funny...I can see you using a hacksaw to cut the neck. What we will do for the babies...

I found dehydrated chicken feet in one of the pet stores so I decided to try them. Turns out they are a nice 2 bite snack for Kryten.

My dog loves raw chicken feet, although I admit the first time I gave them I also wasn't sure about the toenails--- but he digests them fine.

I love Hare-Today, but the shipping costs make my stomach hurt... Recently a local meat market expanded and are offering all kinds of goodies- including beef heart for $1.99/lb.(about the same as HT). I can know I can source a lot of things locally--- except green tripe. May have to still order that.

Nice to see other raw feeders on here...:)

I don't know if I could eat them. Glad you enjoyed them. My stomach just turned a little imaging myself eating them.

If you think chicken feet are gross, try feeding raw pig snouts. My boy has been on an all pork diet for a while so I've been trying to give him as much of the pig as possible: leg meat, butt meat, shoulder, tenderloin, ribs, kidney, liver, heart, feet, and tail. I thought I'd be adventurous and picked up a package of snout the other day. It was the only time I couldn't hang around to watch him eat. The texture was beyond gross. Never again.

Mine don't like the snouts but I think they are cute.

BTW, I used to have the neatest back scratcher that was made from a chickens foot. Don't know why I just remembered that???
