Chewing rocks

Thanks for the info! I know it’s not worms because she just got her yearly test for that. I can’t say it’s not a vitamin deficiency, I have a vet appointment in a few weeks for a blood draw (for the kidney stuff). I’m going to ask the vet if they have any tests that can be ran for these things since they are already drawing blood. And she had a routine yearly blood test done recently so I bet if I ask what they tested for, it may rule some of those out. When I read about Pica, it’s my understanding that she would be worse than this. Like eating more than rocks and leaves. So far it’s just been rocks, leaves, and one dryer sheet. But I could be wrong about that, I haven’t read a lot about pica. Thanks for the advice though! I will be asking my vet for sure :)

I think it would be worse if it were pica. Al had it. Just another special thing about him. He particularly liked certain kinds of cloth, paper products of any kind, cotton balls/Q-tips, and dirt. He was obsessive about it. I became adept at inducing vomiting for things that I knew were safe to come back up. He does also have an issue with digesting his food that digestive enzymes helps with. I can't remember if the pica stopped around the time we added the enzymes. It's been a long time ago. I do know that he ate inappropriate things for about 2 1/2 years. Silly Lettie. Rocks don't even taste good. Go for the dried animal poo in the yard. Much yummier!!

Don’t encourage her! Haha. Good to know, poor Al, he’s such a special boy and I’m so glad he found you. Lettie doesn’t seem obsessive about the rocks, it’s more like a “play time” mode I see when she is picking the perfect rock. She has went after goose and rabbit poop before, when she was a little puppy. That was the first day I found my “mom strength” lol, I reached in her mouth past all the shark-puppy teeth and grabbed a handful of goose poop. Check that off the bucket list.

Yuck!! Been there. Let him eat it. Lol. Me and a friend were about to go on a hike, and I had the prong collar on our E.M mix Buster. He found another dogs diarrhea ,and dove on it!! Started rolling in it. And it was fresh. So it's all in the prong... I go to hose him and gaging... he is trying to come near me. I step back, lose my footing, and fall in a bush! My friend was rolling!! She said," Damn April if I had my phone out, you definitely would have made it to my YouTube channel!" I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't want him touching me! :p

I’m lucky, Lettie doesn’t like poo touching her. There has been a few times that if she could talk I swear she would’ve yelled “ewwww”. She poops in one spot in the yard so it’s a land-mine field in that area. If she isn’t paying attention sometimes she will run over there and when she realizes where she is, her eyes get big and she hops out of the land-mine area as quickly as possible!

Thanks guys. I've come to believe that Ed, the dog of my heart, had to leave so unexpectedly and suddenly so that Al could come to us. I would never have gotten a puppy while Ed was in his golden years. Al was born the day Ed passed. I have to think it was kismet that brought us together. I've learned more from Al than any dog I've ever had and every dog we have after him will benefit.
