We just purchased our first cane corso and are so happy to have a new addition to the family. The breeder had his ears cropped 4 weeks ago. At what point should they be standing? Is there anything that we should be doing to help them stand? This is the first pup that we’ve ever had with cropped ears. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would contact the breeder with any questions about the puppy, they should be experienced on the subject.

Ears stand at different rates for each dog. I am not sure if they sent puppy home with posted ears or not but we prefer just to do ear massages to increase blood flow to the ears to help them stand a little sooner.

PS, nails on puppies should be kept short so they don't tear those delicate little nails.

Thank you. Now that we have him, we make sure his nails are clipped and filed down. These pics were from the breeder when we first found him. I’ve been doing ear massages which he loves. Just curious when they should be standing or if we need to tape them. I’ve seen mixed messages.

We don't tape as the pup go nuts to take it off. With consistent rubbing in a week to 10 days they are typically up but can fall again during teething stage.
