Something a little better than just a point and snap with a better picture quality and faster picture taking. Nothing to fancy just a good solid camera that won't crap out after about 3 months!

We recently picked up a Nikon D3100 that's does a pretty good job. It's a DSLR on the cheaper side. It'd be considered a starter DSLR.

Down side is it's a bit bulkier than a point and shoot, but the photo quality is a big step up.

Thanks! I don't mind bulkier cameras! DSLR are more what I'm looking for good thing it's a starter though because I'm no photographer, lol.

We got a Canon Rebel Ti1 I think it is (the boyfriend bought it as a gift for me :) ) and I love the pics it takes... am going to probably have to take a class to figure out how to use all the options and it is bulkier then a point and shoot but we don't mind it.

We have a coolpix p100. Photos are pretty good and it has a lot of features. I would love a different camera but I have to budget for it. Here are some pictures it takes. I am not a photographer in any sense of the word but I think that the camera takes some really nice shots.
