Boerboel coat

Yes, the coat is dense a little soft but heavier than a PB. Jade's coat is very shiny and sealed somehow. When she gets mud or dirt on any gunk on her it just falls off in a few minutes. It is a very protective coat for sure.

Got a heinz 57 dog on another forum, gotta have mastiff of some kind in her....some of the pictures reminded me of Jade, and the owner was saying that her coat is much thicker and denser than the pits he was used too. If she is part BB she's got no protective instinct at all, but its fun to guess!

I see. Check for pigment. a BB has dark pigment unless it is a recessive blue, then it can have a liver colored nose. Also most have a black mask.

Black mask black leather, but white chest and white legs. Also legs a bit on the short side for the body. Not as bulky as most mastiffs. Several of the profile head/neck shots reminded me of Jade (head profile's not quite right, but similer), but she has shar-pei ears....I expect she's a true heinz 57 but her coat is similer to what you're describing too. She was rescued as a "pit mix" as a pup from a shelter in NYC, and no one had any idea who mom was. No protective instincts, very easy going about everyone and everything. 3yrs old, so no protective instinct isn't likely to change at this point.

Whit chest and legs is a common trait from the piebald coat BB. Also some lines of BB have short legs.

Huh.

Head's still not perfect (muzzles to long, and the muzzle stop's not abrupt enough), and still no protective instincts, but thats kinda cool.....

don't see any BB at all. Some Rhodesian Ridgeback maybe. Smooth coat St Bernard? interesting dog. and to have a blue eye really throws things for a mess. Oh once in awhile you will see a PB with a blue eye or 2.

Some of the angles remind me of BB, though it could be Corso or maybe RR, its definetly an interesting do though! I'm not stuck on BB as an option, the dog is likely a huge mixture of breeds anyway lol
