Bad news for Jade.

Looks like she has elbow dysplasia. He wants me to call back Thursday and get some numbers to call for more information.

Well he has already recommended surgery. Someone suggested I ask him to send the film to Penn Hip to get a second opinion. I will be cutting back her food right away. Not sure what else I will need to do just yet.

Shit! That sux! Second opinions r always worth the cost, I would get it done by a specialist or holistic vet. Just because they tend to have different views to a regular vet.

Damn, Mike, sorry to hear about that..
I don't have any advice, but wish her the best of luck.

Oh, man...not what you want to hear. :(

But, keep digging for more info/second opinions, and I am sure you will make the best possible decision for Jade. The fact that she is so young is greatly in her favor.

So sorry to hear that. Do you know what type of ED she has? Have you checked her other elbow? I really wish nobody had to go thru this either the dog or the owner.

Sorry to hear of this Mike.
Sucks to get that news, but she is lucky to have a great dog dad
to help her. And you have lots of folks on this board
pulling for both of you. Healing thoughts for Jade.

Thanks all.

I don't know what type of CED she has yet. I did ask to have her x-rayed from toe to shoulder, and toe to hip on both sides, I hope the vet followed my instructions. I will know more on Thursday after I talk to the vet again and hear what his recommendations are. I am currently looking into Prolotherapy and if any of you have had any experience with it. One person that I have been in contact with has used this on more than one of her dogs and herself and family members and swears it is the gift from God 100% effective on both CED and CHD. Hell if it is this good I'll get my knees, jaw and shoulder done. Another option is gold beads but I have not even started research on that yet.
