Apples on the Raw Food Diet??

My English mastiff really likes apples. Is this part of the "raw" diet? Is it harmful for Chevy, our mastiff, to each such fruit? He likes to pick up acorns and the such from the yard, which I doubt is healthy. Let me know what, besides kibble, would be acceptable for our big boy? Thanks so much for your advice and wisdom...I am appreciative.Sure would be nice to put pictures on this forum without being a brain surgeon.

You don't want him to eat many apple seeds as thy contain cyanide. Kryten loves apples, so much so that it is funny watching him try and figure out what he needs to do to get part of one I'm eating.

Acorns are toxic. Seeds and stems of apples can be toxic. Usually it takes an accumulation for them to do damage. Personally, I wouldn't take a chance. Please be patient. They are working hard to try and fix the glitches. It has been very time consuming and expensive.

Denna LOVES apples. She'll eat them pretty much in any form... with or without the core. The seeds do contain a form of cyanide, but I think you have to eat a few barrels per day to get up to loads that would be harmful.//As for being "part of the raw diet"... if you are following "Whole Prey Model Raw", there is no fruit or veggie included. If you are doing a BARF style diet, they include 10-15% fruit and veggies on a regular basis. //If you are a poop-watcher, you'll notice raw apples go through the system pretty much undigested. So... if you want the pup to get good nutrient value from the apple (or any fruit or veggie) you need to freeze them, cook them or puree them to break the cellulose down and let the nutrients out.//I used bits of dried apple mixed with dried beef heart as training treats for Denna. The apple allowed me to get more bulk in the treats with less calories - so she could have more treats and enjoy training even more. :)
