Full anal glands usually smell like fish. You can take him to the vet or to a groomer and they can express them and sometimes even show you how to do it yourself. I prefer to leave it to the professionals haha.

Oh yeah,,leave it to the professionals!!! My sister was a dog groomer at one time,,,that is,,,until she got sprayed in the face while expressing a dog's glands!! She quit!

Saw a video once of a dog being startled when it was asleep by someone sitting behind it... The dog "expressed" it's surprise... Take it to a pro. ;)

They stink LOL and the excretions vary. I do Thor's when I give him a bath only because I worked in a vet/grooming facility. Other than that if you don't know how leave it to the professionals. You will be glad you did.

Thor has expressed himself on quite a few occasions especially when he over exerts himself....

So glad I haven't eaten yet because the mental image of this is enough to make me wanna hurl!

I know how to do it but at such a young age is it normal and is it possible to remove the anal glands

I would try not to express the glands at this age. Once you start it is on going.
Try feeding some plain pumpkin mixed with his food. Should firm him up.
And no being anal glanced on is not fun, happens at work way too often

I talked to the vet we have been having long car rides so he's been expressing them himself because of the stress
