An eventful few days - the scary stuff

We had an incident this weekend with someone who didn't belong in the neighborhood parking and being in their car on our street. The neighbor called the cops and they came out and it turned out the car was stolen. They caught the passenger of the vehicle and arrested her but the man had already left. My neighbor who saw the whole thing said it looked like the couple who came to my door.

Then last night I had some homeless people or druggies or something behind my backyard in the green space. I saw them through the black berry bushes behind my house. The dogs silently alerted me to them first which I thought was odd. They didn't bark at all just came and got me and stood vigil staring at the spot. It wasn't long before I heard and saw them. Then they saw me and started cussing me out and told me they were just "chilling" and to go the f away. So I called the police non-emergency number but by the time they got here they had left. The police were super nice and told me not to hesitate to call any time that happens.

On top of all that I have found two giant spiders in the house and had to kill them. I am deadly afraid of spiders. I have been chased off my porch by some scary giant flying insect that I have never seen before.

My dogs have been acting up a lot. Alternating between refusing to eat and being mopey to acting out and acting stressed. Last night after multiple times out of bed and lots of comfort from me I finally got Diesel back in bed and he chose to sleep with his back pressed against my back all night. For those of you who don't know this is a *big* deal. Diesel is not usually a snuggler. He prefers to sleep at the end of the bed with his own space. The fact he slept all night pressed against me speaks volumes to all of our mental states.

Then this morning he didn't realize the screen door was there and ran right into it knocking it off.

The cat BrrBeary is causing equal if not more amounts of havoc. He ate my house warming plant and I moved it to my office to protect it as I keep that door closed. Only problem is the latch doesn't line up with the door knob so it doesn't ever latch closed and he has figured out he can push the door open easily. So he got into my office last night and ate more of the plant, shed all over my nice office chair and slept on my sweater which he tore a few extremely large holes in... my favorite sweater. The only nice sweater I have managed to pull out of boxes.

I am ready for my messy loud demanding husband to come home permanently. Life without him is HARD and somewhat scary and stressful. Those of you who do it all on your own and those of you who have no problem doing it all on your own have my complete and total awe.

My husband is suppose to be here this weekend with another load of stuff which I am super happy about but he will also be leaving again right away for the next trip which I am less happy about :(

I will upload more pics later when I can. I did get a few more gems of the pups and the flowers.

They are so beautiful Nik. Love that good morning face.....
I'm so sorry you are having a hard time.
Glad your husband is coming soon, even if short lived... I'm guessing that's a big part of your stress as well as the dogs. It's hard being apart, and especially when everything is so new...

As for the creeps in the back, there is nothing like the sound of a shot gun chambering!! Chook-chook!!,** That sound will scare the hell out of the best of them. Don't know if you own one, but might be worth investing in. Like I said this world has made me a bit jaded ;) I have also come to rely heavily upon my husband's instincts. So if you are a junk yard dog like him, trust your instincts!

I think you absolutely did the right thing in calling the cops. Hopefully it's not a problem area that the previous owners neglected to tell you. Have your neighbors given any insights as to if this is a common occurrence?

I feel for you with the spiders. I don't them either, but even worse for me is cockroaches!! Did you know they fly? I hate those things..

Chin up, it will get better. In the mean time, you have all us wonderful people to converse with and share your woes. ;)

Im so sorry your scared nik and going through this hard time, im sure you know it will all be worth it in the end.
The look on diesels face says it all, he knew there was people around that shouldnt be hes got the anxious look, not happy with people being near and he would pick up the tension you were feeling.
Im with you on the spiders im terrified of them.
Keep safe nik, keep your pack close. Sending hugs from me and the boys your way
Im on my own quite a bit in summer months iv got used to it, the boys act up if im not here its got normal for them, the first few times if they alerted something was around i was scared now im out there with them, which i do get told off about,

Glad all is well, thank God for the watch dogs (attack if needed). Something is up, because I have lived in the same place for 24 years and within the last 6 weeks I have had more trespassers at all hours of the day. I confronted one lady said her car was on my property according to her cell phone. You could tell by her eyes, the light was on but nobody was home.

Hell's Bells, it sounds like an all out creep-fest is going on.. Please be careful....ALL OF YOU!

Nik, I'm so glad you have the pups with you. Please don't expose yourself to any more dangerous callers..get that video-doorbell up ASAP!

Time to host an all neighbour street party so that you all share the watch for your community and contact and support each other. A phone call list with names would help everyone. Not sure if you do Neighbourhood Watch, but if not....Time To Start One and empower yourselves.

That's crazy. Don't want to push my religious beliefs on anyone. But, I find it very interesting that the Greek word for pharmacy is "pharmakeia" which means sorcery or witchcraft. It is my belief that when people are heavily drugged they are opening their selves up to devils. The eyes are the window to the soul...So many people are turning to opiods or other substances to cope with this harsh world, and sadly they become addicts and do things they would normally never do. It's an epidemic. People in our community are dropping like flies from heroin O.D.s People we grew up with. It's sad. I have had to cut ties with a lot of people because I don't want drugs around my kids. The last cesarean I had, a once friend of mine was calling me begging for the few pain pills I was given. She started to harm herself to get pain medication. I had warned her before she became addicted that the pain management clinics were a trap. Almost anyone could get an MRI and find something wrong with there back. Doesn't mean you need drugs meant for dying cancer patients. And I know there are legitimate people who suffer, but the system was grossly abused. Now the clinics are shut down and the addicts have turned to heroin. It's so very sad. These people become desperate and in a sense like zombies wandering around where they shouldn't be. And who knows their mindset. Don't get me wrong, I don't look down on them. I feel very sorry for them. But we must protect our loved ones.

So true, epidemic here too. I lost my Mom one and a half years ago to stage 4 breast cancer. Hospice provided a feel good pack which she needed but it didn’t set well with her. So upon her removal of the home nobody ask me about the feel good care package. Frankly I didn’t think about it either at that moment. What’s weird, to this day not one inquiry about it. It was full of morphine, oxy and I think Tylenol with coding ( prescription grade). I mean months worth. She told them she couldn’t take it, it upset her stomach. With the epidemic going on you would think they would have asked. I ended up getting rid of it all; but what if I was a user? Our arrest reports here are drug related or stealing to get drugs I am sure. Situational awareness is key at home and while out.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mother sounds like a woman who had integrity...

Glad you didn't get harassed for the drugs. I have family members that would have probably broken in to get to them. Not caring who they hurt. My cousin who was on parole for distribution of crystal meth. Spent 13 years in prison. He just killed a 1 month old and 8 year old in a wreck and is charged with negligent homicide. He was coming from New Orleans at Jazz fest. Needless to say, I don't associate with them. My aunt, his mom, is just as bad. I don't even talk to my mom cause she is a severe alcoholic. I tried to help her, but she refuses help. She binge drinks and wants to kill everyone. As I said, I don't want that around my kids....
