American VS English

I personally know about this dog because I was actively involved in the thread. I also know Axel's current owner. In addition, I have been very involved in the AM/EM "debates" for several years.

I do find it interesting that this original thread was regarding American VERSUS English Mastiff. As there are MANY more posts on that particular forum regarding negative behavior of the EM, I find it a bit interesting that you only you chose to post a negative AM thread.

....just my personal observation. :)

First ratio of EM post to AM post? So saying you see more EM issue post than AM posts, is like saying more people watched a Pro football team sunday, than the local high school team friday.
2nd sorry, flat out the ckc is the petshop pedirgee pro's.
3rd for a set breed with a standard, why are the looks by AMBC approved breeders all over the place.

I do agree with you, TWW, about the "looks" being non-consistent. While I did mention that I am visiting an American Mastiff breeder in July, I am also currently researching a reputable English Mastiff breeder in my state as well, who performs health testing (including cystinuria on their studs) and has brindle dogs in their breeding program. I'm a sucker for a great brindle.

Either way, I'm looking for a dog that will fit with my family. We'll see how it pans out. A little homework goes a long way.
