Our EM has to go in for further testing this week to see if she has Addison's disease:( I'm still hoping thats not what's going on but was just wondering if anyone has or knows someone who has this disease or knowledge of first hand and could give me some insight. Thanks so much.

I know of a German shorthair pointer that has it. He gets injections every few weeks I think & has been doing pretty good. I don't know much more about it than that. Sending well wishes your way. Keep us posted.

My lab was diagnosed with Addisons and was on steroids for the remainder of her life. She was 7 when she was diagnosed, but she was a multiple disease dog. She passed away from multiple complications due to cancer and liver disease 8 month later:( Addisons disease is manageable, but needs to be monitored frequently and steroids needs to be adjusted until you find the right dose. How old is your baby? If she is diagnosed, make sure you have her on a low fat diet and a strict exercise program, since the steroids will make them hungry and that = over weight if not exercised. They will also start to drink more and will need more frequent bathroom breaks. Good luck with everything and I pray that all will be well:pray:

Thanks everyone:) I did some research also and it looks like it can be manageable thank goodness, but still sad and hoping she doesn't have it. She is only a year and half!
