Acana Chicken and Burbank Potato...

So it just happened that I have been feeding Shadow my Cockapoo Acana Chicken and Burbank Potato for the last almost 5 years. I used Orijen before that and she would have runny poop if she did not get enough exercise.
Thor is now 9 weeks old and he's been eating the same food since I brought him home and has had no issues other than slightly runnier poop on the first day!
I know that most Mastiffs are allergic to chicken and I was wondering what the signs are cause Thor has been doing great with the food so far...

Mastiffs are allergic to chicken in dog food but they will do ok if fed with raw chicken or chicken cooked at home. My BM faced the same problem. I changed multiple foods for him containing chicken but he never did ok on those foods. But tried chicken at home and was shocked to see that he was great on that. Acana and Orijen are high quality foods from the analysis which i looked. So i hope Thor is doing good even if there is chicken in the food. But i never tried Acana and Orijen.

When Kryten was fed a chicken (or duck) based kibble he started out fine. He had firm stool with low to moderate gas. As time went on the stool got softer and the gas got worse. By the time he had been on it for a month he was dropping cow patties or liquid squirts and could clear a room.

Signs of chicken allergy are runny poop, itching, ear infections and/or scab-like bumps on their skin.

Not ALL mastiffs are allergic to chicken, but it seems to be common.
You could be a lucky and have one of the non-allergic pups! :)

Lol hopefully. Cause my other dog is picky with the type of food so I rather stick with 1 for both of them.
Plus Acana is supposed to be human grade food...
So far he only scratches around his collar area and not often. He had fleas when we got him and I bathed him once with blue Dawn but I may have to do it again cause I didn't lather him with it long enough!

It is true not ALL mastiffs are allergic to chicken. :) It's probably fleas if you recently treated the pup.
