A need a little advice for the upcoming weekend

Ruger's sister will be staying with us Thursday, Friday and Saturday night this coming weekend and I am really excited. They have recently had a couple playdates and they do wonderfully together. My only concern is that they NEVER slow down........I am afraid they will over do it since this time the playdate won't end for days. They just can't leave each other alone, even when they appear to be wore out, they keep playing. Any ideas as to how to slow them down a bit or do I need to be concerned at all? Maybe I am just stressing for nothing but I am afraid that one or the other (Or both) will over do it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! AND wish me luck with these two pups for three days! LOL

Thanks, I am paranoid. They play so hard and the last time Ruger had a bit of a limp for awhile but I never seen him happier. I am hoping that once they realize the playdate doesn't end in one day, they will relax a little more. I believe I am going to be exhausted by the time it is over....LOL

They should. We had a bit of this issue when we first got Arty. Once Apollo realized that Arty was willing to PLAY (and wasn't that a sight, not quite 7lb Arty and 95lb Apollo rough-housing), all he wanted to do at first was PLAY. It took another day or so before he realized that Arty wasn't going to go away, then we had some jealousy issues lol.

I agree, they will crash after they've played for a while. You'll be the one to crash sooner. hehehehehe

I have to deal with this pretty much daily, it seems like Mira and the Labs are never going to stop playing, but eventually she does. Then she sleeps for ages and does it all over again. I find she wears out faster if I get involved in the games, tugging and playing fetch with her, even if the other dogs are playing too. I don't know if that's because what she really wants is the attention from me the whole time or I just get involved near her threshold.

Thanks Everybody. I am just going to keep my fingers crossed and not be a paranoid maniac. I guess you hear so much about not letting them jump/walk/run too much when they are young that seeing them romp and roll all day without taking a breath just makes me nervous but I do enjoy it because that is the one thing Ruger has been missing. Wish me luck and I will attempt to post some photos when I regain energy! LOL
