A moping Diesel Dog

Starting yesterday Diesel began moping. He hasn't been allowed to sleep with us since the heat wave started last Friday.

He refuses to play and throws himself to the ground pouting. At night he was banging on his gate over and over in protest to being apart from us.



I can't wait for this heat wave to end.

Poor Diesel doesnt realize our bedroom is hotter than the kitchen and we are doing it for his own good.

So today I am working from home and Diesel is asleep at my feet getting some alone time and he is beyond happy. He is completely sprawled out, relaxed and currently snoring.

Tools...Husband...Male Friends With Tools...a Case of Beer...Some Food and Voila'...Air Conditioning. And No More Moping Dogs.

You can take your pillow and blankets to the kitchen (where it is cooler) and sleep with Diesel!

And, yes, I noticed the upload isn't working. Grrr! I thought it was just me being non-nerdy, but, I apparently have a nerdy-type for company, so....Consider it Reported To the Powers that be.

We have AC, but Denna has determined the bed is still too hot (we only chill to 75F)... she'll start up with us on the bed, but that only lasts about 5 minutes. She slides off, thuds onto the floor and curls up in HER bed for a change.

This is the other issue with Diesel we let him in the bed the night before last as it was the coolest of the week and he kept getting too hot anyways and then he would pace through the room looking for somewhere cooler. Eventually we had to kick him out of the bedroom because he couldn't settle (that was around 3am when we gave up on him settling down). But, the next day I worked from home with my boss's permission and he seemed to think it wasn't too hot to sit in bed with me while I worked all day. So last night he was okay with his banishment from the bedroom since he already had a whole day of alone time with me.

My husband and I were joking about how Diesel thinks. Since he basically demanded and moped and moped until we caved and let him spend the night in bed with us and then spent the night not in bed with us pacing the room and moving from spot to spot. "I want to sleep with you but over here... not with you."

I have considered joining Diesel in the kitchen. Oddly enough me hanging with him in the kitchen doesn't seem to satisfy him and he still demands entry to the bedroom often. Something about sitting up in our bed or at least having access to the bed is more calming for him.

As for the husband he is the one who has me wrapped around his finger. There are no tricks or ploys that work with him. He just does things in his own time. So perhaps by Christmas I will have an ac... If I'm lucky. :/
