7 week old French Mastiff vomiting bile

I will try to make this short and sweet :) We picked up Sampson from the breeder on Monday July 1st. She was feeding him Purina dog chow so for this week he was eating Purina one puppy. With everything that I have been reading we decided to gradually switch him to Acana Pacifica. It is grain free and the calcium - phos. ratio is ideal. That being said, I have been treating him for roundworms and coccidia. His stool has been good but last night he started vomiting bile (about 10 different times throughout the night) then again once this afternoon. Being a Veterinary Tech. I know dogs vomit at times but from what I hear about Mastiffs, this is a whole new world!!! Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any suggestions for a new Mastiff mom would be great!!! Thanks so much!!!

Normally vomiting bile means an empty stomach. Try giving a small meal in between feedings or a snack. I am not sure how often you are feeding him.

yellow bile with no food, or hardly any, is often "hunger pukes". How often are you feeding him, how much, and at what times?

3 times a day is a good schedule. For the Acana I'd suggest following the feeding guidelines here: Puppy Large Breed | Acana as the calories per cup are almost identical. If he's getting hunger pukes at night I'd reserve 1/2cup to feed him at night before bed. If he's having hunger pukes other times of day then I'd suggest picking up a couple stuffable kongs and reserving 1/2 cup of kibble to stuff one with for a snack.

I believe The vomiting issue has been resolved!!! He really did not care for the Acana Pacifica. We weaned him off of that to Fromm large breed puppy and he is doing great! He was not eating as much as we thought he was. His sister must have been eating more than she let on to ;) Full belly at bed= no bile. Thanks for your help everyone!!!
