thanks for the share!

we also use a sharpie and write our phone #'s on the girl's bellies.
my little terrorist got scared out of her harness last year while out
to potty with the bf. she is chipped, but was able to come home sooner
with our info on her belly. she was found by some kids 4 block away.
we were patrolling for her,but they took her inside.

Great info! Did not know grapes could be harmful to dogs...I have never fed them grapes but I do buy them once in a while. I don't have to worry about my lil girl getting loose around fireworks, she is terrified of them!! Last year the neighbor's (3 houses down) had fireworks and she wouldn't even potty. I took them both out (damn near had to drag Corelina out & Titan could care less) and the whole time she was trying to drag me back up the driveway to get back inside!! I'm up to 9mgs of Melatonin and still has no effect on her at all!!

Great tips! I saw a few Facebook posts this weekend about missing dogs after firework displays on Saturday night.

We live across the road from a campground, so unfortunately, fireworks are unavoidable. Tony is always inside for them... but he can hear them. After starting out the window at them and barking, I got him to settle down and lay on the floor... however, he was still less than impressed.

Giving the stink eye.

He laid draped over my legs on the bed for the next half hour while people were leaving, had to protect me from the strangers and loud "ka-booms."

I guess I'm lucky.

Arty takes his cue from Apollo. If Apollo's not fussed then its probly not worth fussing over.

Apollo really doesn't care about fireworks. When they first start going off he'll alert, but if we take him outside then, and allow him to see/hear that they're no where near, then he's fine for the rest of the night. Ditto thunder.

Thankfully mine don't care about thunder or fireworks. This might be because I live fairly close to a gun range and there are times where it can get quite loud (and it's random). It also is near the off leash I take them to and Kryten will stop and stare if they start shooting while we are close but since he can't see anything quickly relaxes again.
