2yr old Cane Corso question

Hello, I am brand new to this site! I have an amazing 2 year old Cane Corso (male). Well I had gotten him a husky mix puppy for a friend to play with, while they do great togeather weve noticed some changes in Brute the corso. Since we got.the puppy, he is now 10 weeks old, my corsos eyes have been extremly red, and hes got nasty grrenish eye boogers. It almost looks like the puppy may have cut the.edges of my corsos eyes. The new puppu also likes Brutes jowls (sp) I call them flabber jabbers, the puppy always jumps up and bites at them, so now theyre all swollen and yucky. I did buy my puppy a muzzle to try and limit it...

My question is, is there a home remedy or something I can do or put on my corsos mouth to help heal it? I clean his face daily at least 3-5 times to try and heal his eyes, so far they look better.

One last thing, I saw it in another post about shaking. My corso about 6 months ago or so started this odd shaking. Its only his head, looks like a.person with parkinsons. He gets a thousand yard stare and onlu thing to stop it is if I holdd him, and pet him and.tell him he will be ok, sounds silly but it stops his head from shaking. Its very odd, not a.violent shake and just his head.

I think that was my only few questions I had, any info, advice or anything would be so greatfully appreciated!

Thanks ,
Nicole

Have you taken him to the vet about the shaking????????????

And you just have to work with the puppy to get it to LEAVE IT when going after the corsos face. My pup did the same to my EM but we just stopped her and eventually she just got that it was not ok. Now she only goes after her when she is wet from getting a drink and she just licks her face. You just have to show the dog what is ok and what is not.
Did you see the vet about the eyes?? Some eye issues are common in some Mastiffs...moreso the bully lines... but again.... vet???

Im actually calling my vet tomorrow, Brute is due for his shots anyway, plus I need to get the puppy all his puppy stuff. I hope my corso brute isnt alergic to the husky pup. Lol. The puppy does try and get water from the flappers as well, I call him the.sea annomie (sp) whem he starts that stuff. The pup is still bery young, but hes learning very quickly. Each day he is less and less biting on Brute, which is good. It just takes patience and we have to maintain our dominance...or else.... But yes, the vet is being called in the morning for sure!

Your puppy is being the typical punk puppy and testing to see what his limits are, they all generally try this. We have one female that will put them in their place and that is the end of it, she isn't mean she just corrects and kind of looks at the puppy to make sure they get it and then walks away. My other female doesn't overly correct (she still thinks she is the puppy) so I have to tell the puppy that this isn't alright, it doesn't take long for them to get it just consistent reminders when they try to push it and they will soon knock it out.

The eye thing could be anything, could have gotten something irritating in it, especially if the puppy swatted him in the face he could have drug some dirt through them causing a bit of an infection. The shaking I would for sure have the vet look into, the other post someone suggested video taping it which is a really good idea so you can take it into your vet with you. We unfortunately do have EPI as a problem in the corso world :( in some lines that were bred.

I would get him to the vet asap about the shaking.
My first thought as well could be seizures.
May I ask where you got your pup? As there is epilepsy in the breed, some lines WAY more then others, unfortunately most of the time it is kept quiet and hushed up. :(
Let us know what the vet says.

I had found him on Craigslist, the family paid thousands to import a corso from italy...then when he was born theu babied him for 6 months then threw him outside to fend for himself. No food no water, no attention...nothing. He was on a short chain attached to a fence, and his collar was embedded into his neck. He was so thin,.and when I first met him, he just had this helpless help me look. So I gave them.$50 which probly went to dope, and took the dog home. I got the collar off first, and called the vet. He was so infested with hookworm, that had I not found him he would have died in a few days. Sadly I do not know the bloodline, I may be able to find out though. It took us quite a while to get him healthy, but im so glad I kept on it and kept him. Hes an amazing dog!

But hes going to the vet this week for sure, my one friend is a vet out of state, she said it could ne his ears..but im not chanceing it.
