Ska. I am an owner of two male Rott/Chow dogs. 1 is 11.5 the father, the other 10 his son. When I seperated from my Ex I took the son with me and she would not let me have the father. Both dogs were whole, intact males. Duncan was Alpha at his home Dozer Alpha with me. 6 months later my Ex asked me to take the father because he tried to kill her new guys Wolf dog, and attacked the new boyfriend several times. I agreed to take him. A month goes by and I almost lose both dogs in a horrific fight that happened when i wasn't home. I was able to save both. The Vet told me that if I had them fixed I would no longer have this issue with them fighting so i agreed. Guess what? He was full of crap. They got into it again about a year later and Dozer the son almost lost his front leg. Even today 7 or 8 years later they show Alpha dominance agression at odd moments, so I keep them apart when I am not home. Now Recently my female dog went into heat and during her cycle the male dogs were insane with mating drive and had to be watched at all time because they tried to attack each other. So all those studies you found do not mean anything to me as I have living proof that neutering does not change behavior.

be careful what you are feeding him ...grains will cause stiff joints in dogs and humans ...the grains contain fungus from being stored in cylos and thats cause mold to grow on the grains which in turn causes joints to become inflamed and grains arent good for you dog ...i have switched all of mine to the raw and im loving it and they are too ..and it great how you dont have smelly mushy turds in the yard ...that is a plus espically when you have 4 dogs ..you can deffinatly tell the difference in then actually utalizing and absorbing the meat ...its great !!!!

Sorry to hear about your dogs. I had mine neutered very very young before any aggressive behaviour could surface and be familiar. Everybody's experiences are different - mine was a positive one behavioural-wise. It was just great to be able to share some information on the topic as I am genuinely interested and that's the way I assumed it to be because of the things I have learnt and experienced myself - please keep in mind I never said either way was right or wrong. But it is fair to show both "sides" isn't it?
I do appreciate your input and am looking into how neutering or low levels of testosterone could affect bone development - as i am interested.

Thats great!! I cant wait to try them on a raw diet. Have never agreed with grains plus is a storage risk as you said - heard some stories about dry foods changing packaging causing fungus/mould to grow which can kill dogs. Will look for a freezer soon! I fully agree with a high protein high carnivorous diet and had a ton of customers raving about it in the pet store - less food allergy symptoms, better coat, all round health improved.... But for the time being will put him on a high protein grain free dry food - either arcana or orijen which is the best you can get here in my opinion. Cant wait to not have to pick up so much in the backyard! A plus for everyone!
