1 year old male mastiff with suspected pano

Hello,

My sweet boy have been having a lot of pain in his hind quarters. The vet diagnosed him with pano. After a few days on the pain meds, I visited this site and found the pano formula...ordered the supplements online and have been feeding him this for several days now. I haven't seen any improvement in his mobility. He CAN walk...if he's motivated to do so. But when he walks, his hindquarters shake and I can see his muscles quivering. He WAS a big boy...157 pounds at a year. But since all of this started, he's definitely lost weight. I'm taking him to the vet again tomorrow because, this just doesn't FEEL right. He shouldn't still be in so much pain. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be something else? Any inputs would be so appreciated. My anxiety is through the roof...I'm so worried about my baby.

Thank you,

Beth :)

I would get an X-ray .Norman had a severe bout of Pano about a month ago ,it took about 2 weeks for him to feel better. It started in his rear leg and traveled to the front . I am concerned that your dogs back end is the only part bothering him .

I also recommend having X-rays taken. That is the only way to know for certain what is wrong. I went through something similar when Kryten was diagnosed with a sprained elbow. X-rays were what finally gave the diagnosis of elbow dysplasia. Vet experience can only go so far. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
